At the Alexian Rehabilitation Hospital, rehabilitation and medical treatment are the first priorities. The Alexian Rehabilitation Hospital enjoys an equity partnership with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, which has been ranked the Best Rehabilitation Hospital in America by U.S.News & World Report every year since 1991. Your donation to the Alexian Rehabilitation Hospital will help the staff to stay current with the latest practices in rehabilitative medicine, help to purchase new equipment and launch new initiatives for our patients. With your support, we will be able to continue treating a wide range of conditions of the thousands of men and women cared for inpatient and outpatient at the Alexian Rehabilitation Hospital each year. Still, patients and their families and friends want to know how to live life beyond treatment. To help anyone impacted by a disability to obtain the information and support they need to maintain their quality of life, the Alexian Rehabilitation Hospital is creating a multi-media area, called the L.I.F.E. Center. Modeled after the L.I.F.E. (Learning Innovation Family Empowerment) Center at the world-renowned Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago’s flagship facility downtown, Alexian’s L.I.F.E. Center will provide families and employees with access to materials that inform, inspire, comfort, and support. The L.I.F.E. Center will be appointed with comfortable furnishings, computer workstations, and space available for support groups to meet. A series of workshops, lectures and videoconferences will be held at the Center regularly. The Center will also have an interactive kiosk that is computer linked to the Rehabilitation Institute’s L.I.F.E. Center allowing our visitors to access new information as it becomes available.
